MORIINGA MAGIC
Moringa oleifera, commonly known as the drumstick tree or miracle tree, is recognized for its diverse health benefits and nutritional properties. The plant is rich in bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, alkaloids, vitamins, minerals, and essential amino acids, which contribute to its therapeutic potential.[1][2]
Moringa has been traditionally used for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties. It has shown potential in managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and cancer due to its ability to modulate oxidative stress and inflammation.[1][3][4] The plant's leaves, in particular, are noted for their high phenolic content, which provides neuroprotective effects and may aid in the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders by reducing DNA damage and inflammation.[4][5]
In terms of nutritional benefits, Moringa leaves are nutrient-dense and have been used to improve nutritional status, particularly in populations at risk of malnutrition. They have been shown to enhance hemoglobin levels in children with iron deficiency anemia and improve vitamin A status in postmenopausal women.[6] Additionally, Moringa supplementation has been associated with increased breast milk production, which can be beneficial for lactating mothers.[6]
